asbestos-related disease that occurs in the
mesothelium, a thin layer of cells that lines the body’s internal organs. Below, you will see that there are three types of mesothelioma- pleural, peritoneal and pericardial. The most common form of mesothelioma is the pleural variety, where the disease inhabits the lining of the lung. Peritoneal mesothelioma can be detected in the body’s abdominal cavity.
